Synopsis: A gifted young woman reinvents herself as she is professionally groomed for the field of materials science by a professor who later discredits her work in a public venue. The setting takes place in a research laboratory at a university in Pittsburgh. The topic of research is transparent electrodes such as for transparent conductive films (touch screens, solar cells, flat panels for tv or computer). This research topic serves simultaneously as a metaphor for the young woman who struggles to understand her academic environment.
